BarChordBarChord Entertainment Inc. was a small company which was attempting to change the music industry. The plan is to give the artists (or their managers) ultimate control over how their music is distributed and sold without alienating the customer. Currently this consists of the website as a distribution channel. I wrote and maintained in the entire backend system (~300k lines) during my spare time including the database design and server systems until December 2001 in exchange for a portion of ownership and the benefits of back stage tickets, and a beer with some of the local bands. BarChord closed up shop late 2002, giving ownership of the code to myself. Style, flow, and content were supplied by BarChord or other contractors. |
